Troubleshooting
This chapter might help you find a solution to a potential problem.
PDFZone does not find anything during the extraction process
Make sure that:
- The selected PDFs have been through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and are not simple images. A PDF that has been OCR’d can have its text selected when opened in Preview or in Acrobat Reader.
- You defined a provider corresponding to the PDF you want to extract data from. See the chapter Models.
- You defined a Trusted Neighbour for the values that might not always be at the same position. See the Models - Trusted Neighbour chapter for more details.
- The shape of the PDFs are close to the one defined under the Models (‘WHERE’) Tab. PDFZone is smart and can handle variations between PDFs, but these variations have to be logical.
Why does a popup appear saying: Non-OCR document detected… ?
Because your PDF has not been through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and is just an image. A PDF that has been OCR’d can have its text selected when opened in Preview or in Acrobat Reader.
Why do I see “!! Non-OCR document !! as provider name in the analysis results ?
Because your PDF has not been through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and is just an image. A PDF that has been OCR’d can have its text selected when opened in Preview or in Acrobat Reader.
